RMR Services, LLC has been involved in utility meter reading, service, and installation for over 30 years. It is our mission to supply our customers with a well-trained and highly skilled staff of professionals that is capable of completing your utility project in a precise, timely, and cost-effective manner.

RMR Services currently provides the following services:

Meter Installation and Service

​We specialize in gas, water, and electric meter installation and service, including the installation and maintenance of AMR devices. RMR Services has worked closely with CenterPoint Energy's Automated Meter Reading department since 1990, making us the first utility contractor in the United States to work with AMR technology. RMR Services field technicians have installed more than one million ERTs for CenterPoint Energy since 1990.

In 2021, we partnered with Ferguson Waterworks to provide their customer base a variety of installation and metering services.

We are currently performing water metering services on behalf of Ferguson Waterworks for Maple Grove, MN, Cedar Rapids, IA, and Yankton, SD.

Field Credit Collection and Disconnects

​Our company has been performing utility field collection and disconnect services since 2008. We currently make between 5,000 and 15,000 field collection calls each month. RMR Services field technicians perform inside and outside credit disconnects including blind plate, payment processing, relights, field outreach, court ordered visits, and ACIs. Due to the fluctuating volume of collection calls, we have learned to quickly adapt our workforce to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers.

​We currently provide collection and disconnect services for Connexus Energy and CenterPoint Energy.

Atmospheric Corrosion Inspections

RMR Services has been conducting Atmospheric Corrosion Inspections (ACI) with leak detection for CenterPoint Energy since 2009. Our company currently completes approximately 23,000 ACIs on indoor gas meters throughout Minnesota each calendar year. As of 2015, RMR Services has been conducting ACIs on CenterPoint Energy's outdoor gas meters, as well. We currently inspect approximately 200,000 outside meters annually. We have worked closely with CenterPoint Energy personnel to develop many of the systems currently used to complete these ACI processes, including letter and postcard composition, scheduling and planning, customer contact criteria development, and the reporting and documentation of survey data.

RMR Services gas meter inspectors are currently working on behalf of CenterPoint Energy throughout the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota.  ​

​Utility Meter Reading

​RMR Services is currently servicing the meter reading needs of 5 utilities and municipalities, reading approximately 22,000 water and gas meters each month. At our peak production, RMR Services meter readers were completing over 350,000 reads each month. The influx of AMR/AMI technology into the utility industry has largely eliminated the need for manual meter reading. As an extension of our meter reading responsibilities, RMR Services was able to adapt to these changes and develop creative solutions to assist multiple utilities seamlessly transition from manual meter reading processes to AMR/AMI systems.

RMR Services currently provides meter reading services to Minnesota Energy Resources and the Minnesota cities of Big Lake, Bloomington, Inver Grove Heights, and Oak Park Heights.

​One of our company's biggest strengths is the skilled team of project support professionals that staff our company's call center. RMR Services is equipped to handle your project from beginning to end. We utilize professional software to efficiently schedule, organize, and dispatch appointments and our highly-trained front office staff is committed to providing a pleasant customer service experience throughout the appointment scheduling process and are adept at data documentation and record keeping once the work is completed.
